Hibachi at Home

So, let me start off by admitting we were total suckers for Amazon Prime Day. We may or may not have exceeded the budget… BUT! It was totally worth it! We got this griddle for $200 and couldn’t wait to try it out! 🙂

I say “we” couldn’t wait, but if I’m being honest… my husband did all of the *amazing* cooking while I played paparazzi and did the dishes after haha..

He started out by making the dressing for the salad so it could chill while everything else was cooking. We found a few recipes online and ended up doing the following (and it turned out SO tasty!!):

  • 1/2 cup of minced onion
  • 1/2 cup of peanut oil
  • 1/3 cup of rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. of water
  • 2 tbsp. of minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp. minced celery
  • 2 tbsp. of ketchup
  • 4 tsp. of soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. of sugar
  • 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. of minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. of black pepper

Blend on high speed until ginger is well-pureed.

Magic sauce:

  • Soy sauce
  • Teriyaki sauce
  • Chili sesame oil
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Splash of A1

Then it was time to make the rice which consisted of:

  • White rice
  • Brown rice
  • Eggs
  • Garlic butter
  • Magic sauce
  • Salt & Pepper

Udon Noodles:

  • Udon noodles (found in the salad area of the grocery store)
  • Garlic butter
  • Salt & Pepper

Veggies:

  • Zucchini
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Garlic butter
  • Magic sauce
  • Salt & Pepper

Meat:

  • Filet minion (steak)
  • Chicken
  • Magic sauce

Needless to say, the griddle worked fantastic & the food turned out SO yummy! 🙂

(Yes, we used paper plates because you wouldn’t believe how many dishes we already had from the meal .. and I’m lazy 😉 )

Update – round two with the griddle was also a success! 🙂
