Photos, Memories, & Office supplies

When I was young, I recall the first big art set my Grandpa bought me. It had everything I could dream of all in one briefcase style box. I was in arts and crafts heaven. I also was pretty obsessed with stickers and was thrilled when my older cousin gave me her sticker book. I have always loved craft and office supplies. As I got older, I started to really get into photos. Photos of people I knew, photos of celebrities, anything and everything. My bedroom walls were turned into massive collages of random stuff for years. Side note: It was a nightmare trying to get staples out of the walls later on ;). My friends and I used to use spiral notebooks in middle and high school to write notes to each-other back and forth. Some of us would get really into it and draw pictures, paste things inside the notebooks, and sometimes we would get notebooks going with 4 or 5 of us at a time. As we got older, we got cellphones and AOL instant messenger/ Myspace took over all forms of our communication. However, somethings never change. I still love getting a new notebook, set of pens, or a new planner. For a while I was into the “Happy Planner” because I was able to use it to keep track of the million things I needed to remember for my personal & work life, while also being able to use stickers to customize it. More recently, I changed to the Erin Condren planner and it has been a bit more functional for me. A couple of weeks ago, I found a promo code for Erin Condren notebooks and wanted to check it out. I found a particular style thought works well for me at work. I have multiple meetings every week and need to take notes on things, but also need a place to put together a simplified to do list. This layout works *perfect* for that! There is plenty of space to write and then a side bar for my to-do list to go. πŸ™‚ Note: The clip you see in this picture was from Amazon. I saw them on one of my favorite you-tube channels Jambeauty89.Β

Now, don’t get me wrong. Erin Condren notebooks are pretty pricey so you definitely want to find a coupon code before you order BUT – they are totally worth it. They have plenty of designs to choose from or you can upload your own photos. I decided to design my own (which probably isn’t super shocking after I just explained my love for photos ;)). I spent an embarrassing amount of time choosing the photos for the cover; but I figured – I spend on average 50-60 hours a week at work so I would like to have something with me to reflect some of the most important things to me.

From top to bottom/ left to right:

Lucy Lou – Our beagle pup being as cute as can be. It took my husband and son a long time to convince me to get a puppy, and when we finally did – I fell in love immediately. She is the cutest little pup with the biggest personality.

Cameron & I at the monster truck show – I LOVE the monster truck show. From the moment my dad took me to my first show and got Grave Digger’s signature for me – I have loved it. For years when people would talk about their favorite places to go – mine were always a toss up between the monster truck show & Disneyland. One of my old managers used to refer to me as a “redneck princess” haha. Kris & I took Cameron to his first monster truck show in 2017 and had a BLAST! We rode around in a monster truck and got covered in mud. That particular show was more of the local drivers rather than the “big names”. In 2018 the “big names” came to town and I made sure to get tickets for all three of us as well as my parents. Cameron had so much fun getting to meet each of the drivers and watch the show. The highlight though? It had to be when Cameron was waiting in line to meet one of the drivers and he ended up being on the big screen! πŸ™‚

Lock of love in downtown Tucson – Kris & I added a lock to one of the sculptures downtown. I love the idea behind it and couldn’t wait to add ours! You can read more about these sculptures here and here. <3

CDR Automotive – My parent’s business when I was younger. CDR stood for “Chelsea, Diedre, and Reid”. My parents owned this automotive shop in Arivaca & I loved getting to use the pricing gun with the orange stickers.

Kris & I with Rudolph noses – I just love this photo because it basically shows our personalities in a nutshell. πŸ™‚

My friends & I at my bridal shower – When I got pregnant, I was still fairly young and it was tough for me to keep friendships going as my life was changing so quickly. I don’t really have a “group” of girlfriends to go out with. However, I do have some of the best friends a girl could ask for. They are each special to me in their own ways and I would be lost without them. It’s pretty incredible when a couple of basically strangers can come together to do something amazing for someone. These girls put on the best bridal shower ever. <3

Cameron’s kindergarten rodeo – Cameron was the cutest little cowboy, and put on the cutest show ever! After the show was over, everyone went outside to find it was SNOWING! That may not sound like a big deal but if you’re a native Tucsonan- you know it was pretty monumental! πŸ˜‰

Pattern blocks – These pattern blocks represent the last time I got to hear my Grandma’s voice. I had gone to visit her in her nursing home and we worked on matching up blocks to the boat photo. I had no idea it would be the last time I would get to hear her voice, but every time I look at these blocks, I remember that day. <3

Beanie’s Backyard – This was the first book my mom ever had published. I couldn’t be more impressed or more proud. I am lucky to be the daughter of an amazing writer. Get yourself a copy here πŸ™‚Β

Cameron after his first basketball championship – Pretty self explanatory. Such an incredible day!

Cameron holding bags we made for some local officers –Β  With all of the controversy in the world right now, it was nice for Cameron to be able to put something together for a group of 15 officers.

Knight Foundry – My grandparents started the Knight Foundry many years ago. The business was super successful & I can never get tired of hearing the story over and over again. The Knight Foundry reminds me of what I come from – a family of hard working successful people. <3 Last Christmas I had an ornament made for my parents of the Knight’s head that was used in the company logo. If you ever need a custom ornament made, I highly recommend CreationsofClay.

The three of us – this photo was taken on our one year wedding anniversary at the same place we got married. Cameron’s big personality is making an appearance in the background. πŸ˜‰

My parents – on their wedding night. It was on Christmas Eve 1984. My dad asked my mom what she wanted for Christmas and she said she wanted to get married. They went down to the court house and here we are 34 years later πŸ™‚

My dad & Cameron fishing – This was Cameron’s first time fishing and he was THRILLED he caught 5 fish!

Blaine & I – Blaine was one of my best friends in the world, and he died in a motorcycle accident when we were 20 years old. I think about him often, and wonder what he would be up to if he was here now. His family means the world to me and helps keep his spirit alive. <3

Kris, Cameron, & I at the children’s hospital – We have been donating every Christmas to the children’s hospital for the past 5 years. It brings us a lot of joy to our hearts to be able to contribute and it is amazing to see how appreciative they always are. <3

Lucy Lou – Lucy in her new pink chair. There’s really no special memory with this one, she’s just so dang cute!

The quote I put is just something I found online a long time ago that inspires me every time I see it. πŸ™‚
